Day 1
A Childbirth Education Program for New Dads

Birth is NOT just one day... it starts Day 1.

Day 1 covers the following topics:
Pregnancy: The 1st, 2nd & 3rd Trimester
Birth: Partnership & Support
Beyond: The First 12 Months of Fatherhood

Day 1 is a father-centric program that is based on a combination of childbirth education models and labor & postpartum doula techniques. Three hours long, the course will provide a robust presentation of techniques and accurate information to create a foundation for a positive birth experience. New fathers will learn valuable tools that will in turn boost their confidence in supporting their partners during the birth. Learn what a Doula is and how they can help make your birth experience a more positive one. Learn how to detect the onset of postpartum depression and what steps to take if your partner experiences symptoms. All materials are included with the course fee. Day 1 - Advanced Class

Want to learn more on a certain topic? Now you can... choose any of the three - Pregnancy, Birth or Beyond - Day 1 topics for a more in-depth two hour class.

Each topic deserves its own class. Discuss in detail the "small stuff" that you are thinking or worrying about. In addition to the class, you will receive further support and resources to help foster your family's ideal birth. This is a great refresher option for returning fathers.

Day 1 Couples Class

Day 1 is now offered as a Couples class! Fathers are encouraged to take the Day 1 course before taking the Couples class as the content varies between the two programs. Michelle Chrastil MA, CPD, co-teaches this class with the Day 1 instructor and offers her expert advice in a small group setting. Share and discover questions and issues from other couples just like you. The Couples class is designed to help New Fathers and Mothers plan for their birth and discuss topics and concerns that they may have during the childbirth experience.
